Creepy Dates update history: every confirmed date and source

Last updated:

Every date on this page is sourced — most from Hahadit's own itch.io devlogs, one from her Tumblr, and one (Chapter 1's exact day) from VNDB because no devlog for it exists. When a site publishes release dates without sources, this is the checklist to compare it against.

The confirmed timeline

EventDateSource
Chapter 1 releaseJuly 2025itch.io game page; exact day from VNDB, not a devlog
Chapter 2 release ("Creepydates CHAPTER 2 — AVAILABLE NOW")13 October 2025itch.io devlog
Chapter 2 fixes: Jeff's broken sprite, the disappearing-jacket bugOctober 2025Chapter 2 devlog
Fix: story stall after rejecting a proxy mission with Slenderman as your favouriteOctober 2025itch.io comment thread / devlog
Chapter 3 release date announced ("CHAPTER 3 release date" devlog)24 February 2026itch.io devlog
Chapter 3 release15 May 2026Chapter 3 devlog
Chapter 3 hotfix: crash after a Laughing Jack conversationHours after releaseitch.io devlog / comments
Chapter 4 date announced ("CREEPYDATES chapter 4: october 25")25 October, year unstatedHahadit's Tumblr — no devlog yet
Chapters 5–6, NSFW DLC, extra routes after the main storyPlannedDeveloper answer: "5 or 6 chapters maybe (+ nsfw dlc and also i will add more routes after the game is done)"

Two patterns worth noting: Chapter 3's date was announced in a dedicated devlog first and the chapter then shipped on that date — so she hits announced dates. And the Chapter 4 announcement so far exists only on Tumblr, which is why the Chapter 4 status page treats it as announced-but-unconfirmed until a devlog appears.

Where official information actually comes from

Four official channels exist, and everything on this page traces to one of them:

  • itch.io devlogs — where chapter releases and patches are announced. The most recent devlog is the Chapter 3 release.
  • Hahadit's Tumblr — where the Chapter 4 date was posted, and where release-date replies to players have come from.
  • The itch.io comment thread — where she answers gameplay questions directly, including the "will Masky and Hoodie be split" and total-chapter-count answers.
  • The bug report form — linked from the store page, and the channel she asks players to use for problems.

Anything else — aggregator sites, AI-written walkthroughs, YouTube descriptions — is at best secondhand. The site's own policy is to only publish what traces to these channels or to recorded gameplay, and to mark the rest as unconfirmed.

How to verify your build is current

The current build covers Chapters 1 to 3, and the store page lists approximate download sizes that double as a quick version check: roughly 368 MB for PC, 361 MB for Mac and 388 MB for Android. Chapter 3 is a substantially bigger build than its predecessors, so a download that looks too small is probably an old or unofficial copy.

To update: download the current file from the official itch.io page, install it over your existing copy, and your saves carry over — chapters are add-ons, in the developer's own words. If a chapter shows as locked after updating, load your most recent save. And beware mirrors: there is no Chapter 4 build anywhere, so any APK or download claiming "Chapter 4 early access" is not distributing this game. More detail lives on the itch.io guide.

FAQ

When did Creepy Dates Chapter 3 come out?

15 May 2026. The date itself was announced earlier, in a 24 February 2026 devlog, and the chapter shipped on schedule.

When is Chapter 4 coming out?

25 October, per Hahadit's Tumblr post. No itch.io devlog has confirmed it yet, and the post does not state a year.

How many chapters will Creepy Dates have?

Five or six in the developer's words, plus an NSFW DLC and extra routes added after the main story is finished.

Are old saves compatible with new chapters?

Yes so far. Chapters ship as add-ons that preserve saves — install the new file and load your latest save. Chapter 4 compatibility is expected but unconfirmed.
