Creepy Dates walkthrough and guide

Last updated:

Creepy Dates has three playable chapters right now. Chapter 1 and 2 came out in 2025, Chapter 3 arrived on 15 May 2026, and Chapter 4 is announced for 25 October on the developer's Tumblr. There are six romance routes: Jeff the Killer, Eyeless Jack, Ben Drowned, Ticci Toby, Masky and Hoodie (a single shared route), and Slenderman.

Everything below is drawn from Hahadit's official itch.io page, Hahadit's devlogs and comment replies, and recorded playthroughs. Where the community hasn't nailed a mechanic down yet, this guide says so instead of inventing a number.

Start here

If you are opening the game for the first time, the order that saves the most frustration is:

  1. Set your language. Creepy Dates is written in Spanish first. Open Opciones / Options and switch to English, Russian or Portuguese. Almost every "the game is not in English" report is really this menu being missed.
  2. Create your character. Customisation includes pronouns — she/her, he/him and they/them are all available.
  3. Save before you explore a new area. Creepy Dates locks some encounters based on which room you enter first, so a save at the start of each in-game location is worth far more than a save before a dialogue line.
  4. Explore before you advance. Rooms hold optional conversations and items. The game tells you outright during Chapter 3 that exploring "might find hidden conversations", and that holds for earlier chapters too.

Route content deepens every chapter — the Jeff the Killer, Eyeless Jack, Ben Drowned and Masky and Hoodie route guides cover the paths not traced above.

How affection actually works

Chapter 3 states the system in plain text through Laughing Jack: "from now on, some characters will be more or less affectionate with you, depending on your affection level with them" — and it warns you that piling up affection with several characters at once has consequences, because Slenderman in particular gets possessive about it.

Two practical takeaways:

  • Spreading affection evenly is a real strategy, and a real risk. It opens more scenes in the short term but changes how jealous characters treat you later.
  • There is a love meter, shown as a heart per character, not as a score. Hahadit has said high love means longer, warmer conversations and low love means shorter ones with a visibly annoyed character. Guides quoting exact totals like "relationship points below 40" are still fabricated — the game never shows a number.

Chapter 3 set pieces worth preparing for

The decorating job

Laughing Jack hands you balloons, garlands and signs and asks you to decorate for Slenderman's visiting brothers. You must decorate the hallway, the living room and the basement — click the box in each scene to complete it. Full breakdown on the decorating guide.

Spin the bottle

Jeff suggests it, everyone moves down to the basement, and Laughing Jack spins for you. It is a scripted story scene, not a minigame you can aim. See spin the bottle explained.

The cooking minigame

Players who were convinced the cooking minigame was rigged found the working combination: eyes, pasta, eyes — and do not add the sauce. This was reported by one player on itch.io and confirmed working by another.

Summoning Slenderman

Write Slenderman's name on paper with a marker, find the candles (they are in the bin in your room), and burn the paper. The power cuts out and he arrives. Detailed on the Slenderman route page.

A note on other Creepy Dates guides

Several sites currently rank for Creepy Dates walkthrough searches with content that does not describe this game. If a guide mentions an arcade you visit on "Day 1 Evening", a sanity meter, collectible note pages, a piano puzzle in the library, a secret door behind a bookshelf, or a complete Chapter 4 walkthrough, it is describing a game that does not exist — Chapter 4 has not been released.

Use Hahadit's official itch.io page and its comment thread as the ground truth. With 2,500-plus comments, Hahadit answers questions there directly, and it is where the genuinely useful route tricks get shared.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a paid full version of Creepy Dates?

No. The game is listed as "name your own price" on itch.io, so you can download the complete current build for free or tip the developer. There is no separate full-game edition.

Do I need to replay Creepy Dates from the start to unlock a new route?

No, but you do need a save from before the branch point. Because route locks depend on which room or area you enter first, keep a save at the beginning of each location rather than only before dialogue choices.

Does Creepy Dates have an affection meter I can check?

There is a heart-shaped love meter per character. High love lengthens conversations; low love shortens them and makes the character visibly annoyed. The game never shows a numeric score, so guides quoting exact point thresholds are not describing real mechanics.
