The big choices: weapons, pills, and becoming a proxy
Last updated:
These three questions come up constantly and are also where fan sites invent the most. The honest state of each: the knife is a tool, and the Chapter 2 closet pick is flavour; the pills and the kidney are inventory items with no confirmed use in Chapters 1 to 3; and the proxy offer at the end of Chapter 1 is a real branch — refusing it is what opens Jeff, Ben and Eyeless Jack in Chapter 2.
Everything on this page is either traceable to the developer or to recorded gameplay, or clearly marked as unverified.
What weapon should you choose?
Two different "weapon" moments exist, and searches mash them together.
The knife from Jeff's hoodie
The item that behaves like a weapon and definitely exists is the knife you get from the hoodie in Jeff's room. What it is actually for is opening a door — you use it on Masky and Hoodie's door, it jams, and that jam triggers the Ticci Toby encounter. Take it regardless of which route you are chasing.
The weapons closet in Chapter 2
During Jeff's house tour, click the closet when he names it as a weapons closet. If his affection is high enough and he is your favourite, he takes you outside to teach you. You pick a weapon, meet Eyeless Jack, and then choose whether to continue with Jeff or Ben. Players documenting the scene describe the closet pick as flavour: the branch that actually decides whose route CGs you get is Jeff versus Ben afterwards.
Not yet confirmed: The specific weapons the closet lists, and whether the pick has any mechanical effect beyond flavour. We only publish route details we can trace to the developer or to recorded gameplay, so this section will be updated rather than filled in with guesses. If you have a save file that proves otherwise, the Hahadit's official itch.io page comment thread is the fastest place to settle it.
Creepy Dates is still a choice-driven visual novel, not a loadout game. The one genuine skill challenge documented so far is the cooking minigame, solved with a fixed combination on the Eyeless Jack page.
What are the pills for?
This is one of the most searched Creepy Dates questions and one of the least documented. The pills exist as an inventory item — a Spanish-speaking player asked Hahadit directly whether the kidney and the pills could be used for anything, after trying options and getting nowhere. No developer answer has been recorded.
The honest guide answer: they are collectible items with no confirmed use in Chapters 1 to 3, and they are the kind of thing that usually pays off later. Hold onto them. Do not repeat the spam-site claim that they are "Masky's pills" for a trust scene — that has not been sourced.
Ticci Toby is the obvious association in creepypasta canon (painkillers, because he cannot feel pain), but a specific in-game function for giving them to him has not been recorded either.
Should you accept being a proxy?
This is a real branch, at the end of Chapter 1. Slenderman offers to make you his proxy. Two independent players on itch.io describe the same split:
- Refuse if you want Jeff, Ben and Eyeless Jack in Chapter 2. Refusing is what makes Jeff give you the mansion tour — weapons closet, basement console, the rest of it.
- Accept if you want the proxy-mission branch. One player described choosing who to do the mission with, going with Masky and Hoodie, and leaving to attack a tower. A full accepted-proxy walkthrough has not been published, so treat the details of that branch as thinner than the refuse path.
Neither answer ends the game on a current build. There was a Chapter 2 bug where rejecting the proxy mission while Slenderman was your favourite creepypasta stalled the story after the rubbish task; Hahadit fixed it in October 2025. Reinstall if you hit it.
Be sceptical of pages that describe a "pledge allegiance, sacrificing your sanity" choice and a "Faceless Proxy" bad ending. Creepy Dates has no sanity meter.
Should you get the console in the basement?
Yes — interact with it. Do not try to pick it up. The basement TVs and consoles belong to Ben. Clicking the console on the floor is how you meet him in Chapter 2, and skipping it is a reported reason the later clean-up sequence will not move on.
What the basement is also for: it is one of the three rooms you must decorate, and it is where spin the bottle happens.
How to make choices safely
Since so much of the game's branching is undocumented, the reliable approach is mechanical rather than knowledge-based:
- Save when you arrive somewhere new, not only before dialogue. Room entry order locks content in this game — that is how the Toby encounter is lost.
- Keep one save per chapter start. Chapters flow directly into each other, so a clean chapter-boundary save is the cheapest way to try a different route later.
- Take every item you can pick up. Items are cheap to carry and are the game's main key mechanism.
- Decide early whether you are concentrating affection. Spreading it opens more scenes but changes how jealous characters treat you.
For what these decisions lead to, see the endings page.
Frequently asked questions
What weapon should I choose in Creepy Dates?
Take the knife from the hoodie in Jeff's room — it is a tool for jamming Masky and Hoodie's door. The Chapter 2 closet lets you pick a weapon as flavour; the real branch afterwards is Jeff versus Ben. Which specific weapons are listed has not been confirmed.
What are the pills for in Creepy Dates?
They exist as an inventory item, alongside a kidney. A player asked the developer whether they could be used for anything in the current chapters and got no recorded answer. Keep them; they have no confirmed use in Chapters 1 to 3.
Should I accept being a proxy in Creepy Dates?
Refuse if you want Jeff, Ben and Eyeless Jack in Chapter 2 — that is the documented way their mansion-tour content opens. Accept if you want the proxy-mission branch with characters such as Masky and Hoodie. Neither choice ends the game.
Is there a sanity or relationship meter?
There is a heart-shaped love meter per character, but the game never shows a numeric score. There is no sanity system at all.
