Rooms guide: every part of the CreepyHouse

Last updated:

Room order matters more in Creepy Dates than dialogue choices do. Entering a room too early can remove an encounter entirely, which is why a "rooms guide" is genuinely useful here rather than just a map.

And the room people search for most — the one Slenderman prepares for you — is generated from your own answers, so it does not look the same in two playthroughs.

The rooms that matter

RoomWhoseWhy you go there
Jeff's roomJeff the KillerTake the hoodie for the knife. Also the desk and the burned family photo.
Toby's roomTicci TobyHolds his muzzle — but do not enter early, or you lose his encounter.
Masky and Hoodie's roomMasky and HoodieThe door you jam with the knife. Trigger point for Toby.
The basementBen DrownedHis TVs and games. One of the three decorating spots, and where spin the bottle happens.
Laughing Jack's roomLaughing JackLocked during the decorating sequence. You can hear him talking to himself through it.
Nina's roomNina the KillerOptional conversation. She is going through photos of Jeff.
Your roomYouWhere the Slenderman ritual happens. The candles are in the bin here.
The hallway and living room—The other two decorating spots.

The room Slenderman gives you

Partway through the Slenderman route you wake up somewhere unfamiliar and he shows you a room he has prepared. Crucially, he built it from questions he asked you earlier — his own explanation is that asking about your favourite animal, favourite dessert and so on was to get an idea of what you would like.

So if you have seen a screenshot of someone's pink room and yours looks nothing like it, that is the system working as designed rather than a bug or a missed unlock. He describes the room as "just the beginning".

Not yet confirmed: Which specific combination of answers produces which room decor, including whether a particular set reliably yields a pink room. We only publish route details we can trace to the developer or to recorded gameplay, so this section will be updated rather than filled in with guesses. If you have a save file that proves otherwise, the Hahadit's official itch.io page comment thread is the fastest place to settle it.

Room-by-room notes

Expanded notes on the rooms the table above summarises, gathered here so you can plan a sweep:

Nina's room

Polaroids of Jeff, a Jeff plush she can give you, and conversation about Splendorman being fun. The important interaction: show her the burned family photo from Jeff's room and she tells you Jeff's backstory. Best done during the decorating window, when Jeff is out.

Masky and Hoodie's room

The door you jam with Jeff's knife — the Ticci Toby trigger. During decorating, their shelf holds video tapes and a camera that breaks if you try to use it; when they confront you afterwards you can tell the truth, lie, or say nothing.

Your own room

Where the Slenderman ritual happens: the candles are in the bin here, and the game accepts already-made drawings as ritual paper — including ones from the memory box.

The basement

Ben's territory, one of the three decorating spots, and where spin the bottle happens. The console on the floor is a meeting trigger, not scenery — see the Ben Drowned page.

Treat rooms as save points

Because room-entry order decides encounters, the save habit that works is per-location, not per-choice:

  • Save when you arrive somewhere new. If a room turns out to be one you should not have entered yet — Toby's room is the classic — you can reload without losing the walk over.
  • Keep one save per chapter boundary. Chapters hand off automatically, so a clean chapter-start save is the cheapest way to replay for a different route later.
  • Save before one-shot scenes. The summoning, the decorating confrontations — anywhere the game takes over control.

Rules of thumb for exploring

  • Save on arrival. The costly mistakes in this game are rooms entered, not lines chosen.
  • A locked door is not always a puzzle. Laughing Jack's door is locked as characterisation. Masky and Hoodie's jams by design. Neither is waiting for a key you have missed.
  • Explore between story beats, not during them. The game states that exploring can turn up hidden conversations, and the decorating sequence is the best window for it because most of the cast is standing around.
  • If you cannot leave a room, having clicked everything, reload — a few players have reported getting stuck in their own room, and that is a bug rather than a puzzle.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get the pink room in Creepy Dates?

The room Slenderman prepares is built from your answers to his questions about your favourite animal, dessert and similar. Because it is generated from those answers it differs between playthroughs, and no specific answer set has been confirmed to produce a pink room.

Which room should I avoid entering first?

Toby's room. Going in early removes the encounter where he comes to find you at Masky and Hoodie's jammed door.

Why is Laughing Jack's room locked?

By design. During the decorating sequence you can hear him laughing and talking to himself inside instead of helping you.

Which rooms open in Chapter 2?

Chapter 2 adds new main and side characters with rooms of their own, and entering those rooms is what progress tracks during the clean-up sequence. The devlog does not itemise every room, so the practical rule stands: walk into every room that is open.

I cannot get out of my own room. Is that a puzzle?

No, it has been reported as a bug by players who clicked everything. Reload your last save, and report it through the form linked on the itch.io page if it recurs.
